I would like to start by thanking everyone one that puts their blood sweat and tears into something so magical. Before I started my journey at The Haven I was broken scared and suicidal. I was placed in the psych ward at UNI for a week and when the staff at the have caught wind of this there was a bed immediately waiting for me when I got out of detox.
When I first entered The Haven, I did not want to be there, but through welcoming arms, I found my path. I was able to work on issues I had no idea or was too afraid to handle on my own. I became an aware male in recovery with goals, drive and love for myself all of which I had no idea I possessed.
My path continues with sober living at the George house where I am able to work a twelve-step program and help others with service which is very big in my recovery. I have accomplished more than I could ever imagine and knowing what magic lays in The Haven. I will always be a part of this community that has become family. We together can survive.
