Heather Chase

HEATHER CHASE

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Heather graduated from the University of Utah with her Master’s Degree in Forensic Social Work in 2015. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2014 and completed the Substance Use Disorder Counseling Program at the University of Utah in 2008. She has been affiliated with The Haven both personally and professionally since 2004. She was hired on as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor in 2007 and has held multiple titles since working for The Haven. This includes Case Manager, Clinical Supervisor, Therapist and Chief Executive Officer. She helped develop the Transitional/Sober Living Program in 2008 and has been the lead facilitator, which encompassed a variety of unique roles. This program has excelled and is now one of the leading sober living programs in the State of Utah. She has been involved in multiple agencies such as: First Step House, South Valley Services and Highland Ridge Hospital. She won the 2014 award for Outstanding Woman in Recovery presented by Volunteers of America. She was appointed Director and CEO of the The Haven January of 2016, due to her professional abilities and expertise in the field of Behavioral Health.
Jen Thompson

JEN THOMPSON

CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Jen graduated from the University of Utah with her Master's Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in mental health in May, 2014. Jen earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2013, and completed the Substance Use Disorder Counseling Program in 2012. Jen has been both professionally and personally involved with The Haven since 2003. Jen began her professional career at The Haven as an intern in 2010, and has held multiple titles such as: case manager, substance use disorder counselor, residential intake coordinator, and therapist. Jen was appointed Clinical Director in January, 2016. Jen facilitates The Haven's Family Night Program, assisting residents and their family members learn to build healthy, positive, and trusting relationships with one another after unhealthy dynamics have torn them apart.
Daniel Schwartz

DANIEL SCHWARTZ
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Dan has been involved with The Haven both personally and professionally since 2011, and held such titles as: Property Manager, Administrator and Chief Operating Officer. Dan has overseen the extensive renovations at our Transitional and Residential Properties, which include: Fire suppression and alarm system, full plumbing and boiler system, room remodels, electric and general property renovations for all our facilities located in the Historical Society. Dan has also designed engineering drafts that were used to design the boiler system, plumbing renovation, fire escapes, fire suppression systems, and fire alarm systems.Dan is working towards a degree in Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. Dan has worked in the field of construction for many companies over the last 20 years such as Barnes Construction and Shad Burraston Custom Rails.
Joshua Craig

JOSHUA CRAIG
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Joshua graduated from Brooks College with degrees in Computer Animation and Graphics Design in May of 2004. Joshua has been both personally and professionally involved with The Haven since 2012. Joshua began his professional career at The Haven in 2013, and has held multiple titles such as: IT Manager, Kitchen Manager, Administrative Assistant and Chief Financial Officer. Joshua’s strong technical background in Information Technologies and Computer Science has helped The Haven stay current with industry standards. Joshua was appointed Chief Financial Officer in January of 2016 due to his professional abilities and expertise in the field of technology. Joshua’s education. Brocks College, 2003-2005 Long Beach CA, Associate degree in computer animation and graphic design.
Devin Scallions

DEVIN SCALLIONS

Devin is a Certified Social Worker who began his career in 2009. Devin graduated from the University of Utah with his Master’s Degree in Forensic Social Work in 2015. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2014. Devin has been associated with the Haven since December, 2015 and entered the Haven with the title of Therapist. Devin is responsible for conducting multidimensional assessments on all of the Haven’s residential clients, and facilitating groups as needed. Devin’s career in social work is rooted in crisis and trauma, which drives his passion in Forensic Social Work as they are strongly connected. Along with his career at the Haven, Devin is a Crisis worker for the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institution.
Anthony Casack

ANTHONY CASACK

COUNSELOR
Anthony is a Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor. He has worked in this field since 2011. Anthony recieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2015 from the University of Utah. He also received a certificate from the Substance Use Disorder Program. Anthony has held positions such as Support Staff, Case Manager, and CSUDC, since entering the field in 2011. He has worked for treatment centers like Youth in State's Custody and the Parent Program at Odyssey House. Anthony has been associated with the Haven since 2008. Anthony is a Counselor with the Haven and facilitates psycho-educational groups for the clients. He provides screenings and intakes when the clients enter the Haven.
Zulema Salazar

ZULEMA SALAZAR

HOUSING COORDINATOR
Zulema received her certification in Business Technology from Davis Applied Technology College in 2011. Zulema has been both personally and professionally involved with The Haven since 2014, and held such titles as Housing Coordinator, Office Manager and most recently Human Resources. Zulema has received her certification as a Peer Support Specialist and facilitates weekly house groups for The Haven’s Sober Living Program.
