I graduated The Haven on August 21st 2015. I've been through a few different inpatient treatment centers and this was the first one I willingly went to, and it's where I started to find myself and I fell in love with sobriety. The Haven changed my life. I now have 19 months clean and sober, a 3 month old little girl and I'm so blessed with the life I live today. The Haven is where my sober life really started.
I was given the opportunity to go through The Haven in Sept. 2015 and the program has saved my life. This place truly is a safe Haven for anyone who struggles with addiction. After working with the amazing counselors, the structure of the house and the chance I had to work of my core issues, I got to graduate the program and continue my journey in transitional living. I have found the way out of the suffering of my addiction and The Haven showed me the way.
Where do I even begin? The end of 2013 I found myself walking into another treatment program hopeless. I had yet another overdose under my belt and my children were without their mother again. I had no idea what to expect when I walked into those doors. All I knew was I needed my life back.
I was blessed to be able to do 75 days of in patient treatment where I learned so much about myself and how to change those behaviors and habits. The structure, discipline and therapy I received was amazing. After graduation I moved into the transitional living where I was able to get back on my feet and remain accountable. I gained my self worth and confidence back. I also gained friends whom I love dearly.
The Haven saved my life. I am beyond grateful and blessed. Thank you Haven staff for all you gave me and continue to give others.
I graduated the Haven a year ago it saved my life. I went in there lost and broken. They helped me become the woman I am today I can look in the mirror and am finally happy with who I see. The staff is amazing I watch them go above and beyond for people I am lucky to be one of those people. I know I will always have a family at the Haven. It truly has that special magic
The Haven was the catalyst for me to gain a second chance at life...
Before entering the Haven my life was in a spiral of despair, loneliness, and a collection of negative consequences. Living this way day and day was the only life I knew. I was walking the earth without a soul and I believed that this was the way my life would be forever. Knowing that and accepting it, I welcomed death.
I tried a multitude of ways on my own to fix my life. I failed every time. Fortunately I was redirected down another path. A path that would create a life that has become a blessing to live everyday. This life began when I entered the doors of the Haven. The Haven was instrumental in helping me become a man that I am proud to be today. The staff, the fellowship, and the "magic" that goes on here is something that has been created by the greatest force, love. I Thank the Haven for what they do for me and many others.
Today, I am a man that stands tall. I do not run from life anymore, I do not harm the people who love and support me, I help others like the Haven has helped me. I am happy, joyful, and free. The Haven was the catalyst for me to gain a second chance at life. For that I am grateful and forever in debt to carry to others what I have been shown.
The Haven has given me the opportunity to change...
The haven has tremendously changed my life I went from looking in the mirror and hating the person looking back at me to having a wonderful and successful life without drugs and alcohol I was afraid that I wouldn't know how to live clean and sober but the Haven has given me the opportunity to change that it has taught me how to have fun sober and how to deal with life on life's terms I am in forever debt to the Haven for what he has done for me and my family everyone has always been so helpful and went out of their way to do anything they could to help me thank to the Haven I got my life back.
I learned to be an honest man, and I found my core issues in life...
I am 35 years old and my sobriety date is January 3, 2013. When I went into the Haven, I had no future, I was lost and I had no sense of direction in my life. Living in the Haven I was introduced to AA, I learned to be an honest man, and I found my core issues in life. I struggled to find out who I really was, and what my purpose in life was. Upon graduating after 84 days I moved into transitional housing for 16 months. From there I was able to get the first real job that i have ever had in my entire life, and I currently am still working for the same company today. I have never had a driver's license in my entire life until April 2015.
I am still growing and learning new things about myself daily thanks to the tools that I have acquired through the Haven about coping with my addiction. As a result of my sobriety I have completed my twelve steps, I am a sponsor for other people, and I am a functioning member of society.
I have regained respect, honor, and a sense of self again...
I made the hard decision to step away from a two month relapse that had left me depressed homeless and broken. By checking myself into the VOA I was given the opportunity to go to the haven. I knew nothing of the program I was about to enter, but right away I felt at home. This program helped me get my unsteady feet back on the ground firmly. The best part of this program was the gift of the twelve steps and AA. Where I had met some of the most real and dedicated people in my life today. I have regained respect, honor, and a sense of self again. I will always be in debt to this program and anyone that wants to do the same thing I am!
We offer residential treatment services, as well as safe and supportive transitional housing in The
Haven’s Sober Living Program. We provide services for veterans, individuals with little to no
