Job Opening: Kitchen ManagerWe are looking for candidates who will:

Work as a team at our Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Center
A candidate with strong boundaries and professional conduct in and out of the workplace
Someone willing to work in a recovery setting with a vulnerable adult population
Will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods to include Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
Are passionate about what they do
Is a self-starter and accomplishes goals on a timely manor
Who has a desire and capacity to learn
Is open to feedback
Can pass random drug screens and understands zero tolerance

For Full-Time employees

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Understands dietary nutrition needs
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must have ServSafe Training Certificate upon hire
  • A current Tuberculosis test with negative results
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • An active driver’s license and vehicle (minimal use of personal vehicle)

Responsibilities:

General Operations:
Oversees and manages food handling, preparation and cooking.
Maintains standard food quality for all residents.
Inspects preparation, production and storage areas to ensure health and safety regulations are being adhered to at all times.
Supervises cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and arranges for repairs, contracts and other services.
Maintains appropriate image, including kitchen cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
Ensures good safety practices with residents and guests throughout the kitchen.
Ensures sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen area.
Ensures consistent high quality of food preparation.
Supervises inventories, portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.
Estimates food needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule the delivery of food and supplies.
Provides direction to residential clients regarding operational and procedural issues.v Conducts daily temperature checks for all cooling units.
Prepares weekly menus that are nutritionally sound.
Other duties as assigned.
